The make-up of individual teams varies, but many are formed based on elementary school attendance. As a result, most teams choose to practice at locations that are aligned with or close proximity to elementary schools.

U5 and U6 teams play in a small-sided 3v3 format with an 8 game schedule. A coach from each team is on the field to assist. There is no goalie and the emphasis is on having fun, learning some very basic techniques for dribbling, shooting and spacing, while letting the kids enjoy scoring goals.
U7 and U8 teams play on a somewhat larger field and play a 5v5 format with a goalie. At this level, player position comes into play (forward, midfielder and defender) and spacing and passing become more important to the game. Coaches are now on the sidelines. We strongly believe in the small-sided game format (as recommended by the United States Soccer Federation) in that it emphasizes participation and touches on the ball by the maximum number of players.
U9 and U10 teams move onto a somewhat larger field and a 6v6 format with goalies.
