KC Fusion is the competitive program within Metro United Soccer Club, with both Academy and Club sub-groups. KC Fusion teams are expected to compete at the highest level in the Heartland Soccer Association league. These teams also play in competitive tournaments in their appropriate age groups, as well as competing at the State Cup.
Players on these teams will be coached by the most qualified and experienced coaches in the Club, and will be given the resources to play at their highest potential.
Time Commitments for KC Fusion Players
Generally, our competitive teams will practice two times each week. High school and academy teams may have additional practices, including but not limited to agility training, technical sessions and finishing/goal scoring sessions. Practices will usually begin around August 1st for the Fall outdoor session and March 1st for the Spring outdoor session. Metro United Soccer Club is committed to improving communication to players and their families about the commitment required for Academy and KC Fusion Club teams, including but not limited to, training, playing over the winter months, tournaments, high school age players and cost. |

KC Fusion Fees.
Registration fees (Fall and Spring outdoor) will be $115 per season; paid in July for Fall and January for Spring. Coaching fees (paid for ten months per year) will be $60/month for academy players and $50/month for all other Club competitive players. Attend all training sessions, unless excused by the coach, and come mentally and physically prepared to participate and learn, including always bringing a soccer ball and water bottle.
Expectations of KC Fusion Players.
-
Commit to work on individual skills as necessary and directed by the coach outside of formal training sessions.
-
Conduct themselves with good sportsmanship at all training sessions and games and treat teammates, coaches, opponents and referees with due respect.
Expectations of KC Fusion Parents.
-
Ensure all necessary fees are paid in a timely manner.
-
Praise and encourage your child openly and frequently but DO NOT coach them; that’s what you’re paying the professionals to do.
-
Ensure your child attends all training sessions and games and is properly prepared in terms of uniforms, shoes, a water bottle and ball. Remember “early is on time, on time is late”.
What is the difference between an "Academy" team and "Club" team?
Academy teams play in the top division in their age group. They practice 3 days per week during the fall and spring and twice a week indoors in the winter. Academy teams will play Futsal during the winter and attend six tournaments per year (3 in the fall and 3 in the spring). We encourage Academy players to play other sports and activities, but require that soccer come first in the event of a conflict.
Club teams play in divisions two through seven. They practice two days per week during the spring and fall and once a week indoors in the winter. Club players may play Futsal or indoor soccer during the winter and attend four tournaments per year (2 in the fall and 2 in the spring). We encourage Club players to play other sports and activities and coaches are more flexible about conflicts.
For both Academy and Club players, playing in our club is a ten month commitment for U8 to U14 age groups (August to May) and a 7 month commitment for U15 to U18 age groups (August to February for the girls and November to May for the boys).
